Despatch Handler

Our clients based in Ware are looking for a Despatch Handler. You will work as part of the export department to ensure all correct exportation documentation is generated in a timely manner. This may involve packing physical stock or equipment and troubleshooting problems. The position involves standing or walking the majority of time.

Main duties as Despatch Handler include:

• To ensure compliance to transport regulations for both post and exportation
• To assist with export dispatches to comply with customer requirements.
• To expedite orders due and highlight potential delay issues 
• To comply with Known Consignor requirements 
• To be proactive in suggesting improvements within the Export/Post room process 
• To liaise with any out-sourced parcel service regarding on time deliveries 
• To generate tracking numbers for internal requirements when requested
• Obtain quotations 

Main requirements as Despatch handler include:

• Ability to balance priorities, time manage and work to tight deadlines
• Good at problem solving and troubleshooting and ability to suggest solutions
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to build effective relationships 
• Comfortable working alone or within a team 
• Good written and verbal communication
• Able to work under pressure in a calm and mature manner

It is also beneficial to have a good knowledge in road, sea and air logistics. Please also be aware that our clients require a minimum of 5 years reference history.
